coach Samantha deleon

My name is Samantha “Sam” Deleon.  I am a Milford native and attended Milford School District up until high school. I graduated from Sussex Tech High School in 2013 where I ran cross country and outdoor track for three years. I ran the 800m and the one-mile events for track. I then went on to attend Delaware Technical Community College and graduated with an associate degree in Criminal Justice. I now reside in Lincoln and am currently working my second year as a paraprofessional at Milford High School. I am still an active runner and have completed many 5k races and recently ran my first half marathon in April. Aside from running, I love to spend time with my nieces, being outdoors and vacationing in Florida (Disney World). I am ready and excited to be a part of the Milford Cross Country team and help the athletes achieve their goals.

coach steve venett

Coach Steve is now in his eighth season of helping out with the cross country team. When asked what he enjoys most about coaching, his response is that helping athletes achieve a PR or do something that they once thought impossible is what makes coaching so rewarding and enjoyable.

Also a Milford alum, Coach Steve graduated from Milford High in 1999 and then went on to attend the University of Delaware. After a few years of living and working upstate after college, he now resides in the Milford area with his wife and two daughters. In addition to running, coach Steve enjoys cycling and multi-sport events. He has competed in duathlons and triathlons of various distances, from sprints all the way up to full Ironman® distance races. Steve has completed three full Ironman® races in Lake Placid, New York.
